THE VESPERS- Parish as a Community praying together

The Vespers on the eve of the Annual Feast in which the parishioners come together to pray for the success of Feast is another beautiful feature of tradition connected to the Annual Feast.

The Vespers, in Bela Church, was observed on 22nd of February i.e., on the eve of Annual Feast of our church. The vespers ceremony started at 6.00p.m. The Psalms and Magnificat which were a part of Vespers were sung by the parishioners. Mass followed thereafter. Rev. Fr. Nelson D Almeida, the Parish Priest of Maniyampare was the main celebrant of the mass along with Fr Stany Pereira, the parish priest, Fr Anil Avild Lobo, Priests from the deanery and a few guest priests.

The statue of Our lady of Dolours was devoutly carried on palanquin (Chariot) in a procession after the mass accompanied by people. There was a special ceremony of praying over the people after the procession.

Parish Priest thanked all the priests and the people who took part in the ceremony. ICYM and YCS unit had put up stalls of games of entertainment and ice cream.
