Catechism Day 2025 celebrated at Bela Church

The Annual Catechism Day was celebrated at Our Lady of Dolours Church, Bela, on Sunday, March 2, 2025, with a Eucharistic Celebration at 9:30 AM. Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, the parish priest, celebrated the Holy Eucharist. The liturgy was led by children from all grades, and the choir was conducted by the children's choir group. Everyone actively participated in the Eucharistic banquet.

Following the Mass, prizes were distributed to the winners of the Catechism Exams. The event was graced by Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Rocky Fernandes, Principal; Mr Cyril Crasta, PPC Vice-President; Mrs Cicilia D’Souza, PPC Secretary; Mr Wilfred Manohar, Parish Coordinator of all the Commissions; Mr Ambrose, and Mrs Preetha, the convener and secretary of the Commission for Catechism, respectively.

All the catechism teachers were honoured by the parish priest in gratitude for their voluntary, selfless, and wholehearted service. Students who achieved an A+ grade in their examinations were awarded prizes. Additionally, children who attended every Sunday catechism class, Altar Servers and Marian Sodality Meetings, children's choir practices, and those who attended daily Mass were also recognized and honoured. Children who played the keyboard during Mass were specially acknowledged for their contribution.

After the prize distribution ceremony, tea and snacks were served to all the children present.
