Madva (Our Lady of Velankanni) Ward celebrates its Annual Feast

Madva Ward members celebrated the feast of their ward patron, Our Lady of Velankanni, on 1st September 2024. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 a.m. by Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, and the ward members conducted the liturgy with devotion.

The celebration took place at the residence of Mr Thomas Crasta. An SCC meeting of 7 Steps method was held prior to the celebration at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest of Bela Parish, Sr Jancy, the ward animator, Sr Anna, and Bro. Aaron, Regent, were the guests of honor. Mr Thomas Crasta, the ward Gurkar, Mrs Leena Crasta, the ward secretary, Mrs Jennifer D’Souza, the ward representative, Mr Rayan Crasta, President of Aashirvad Youth Club and all the members of the ward were present on this occasion.

Mr. Thomas Crasta welcomed the gathering, and the program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. The annual report of the ward’s activities was presented by Mrs Leena Crasta.

Ms Frenita D’Souza, who secured a rank in the Teacher P.Sc Examination, was honored. She later shared her experiences and encouraged the youth to pursue government examinations. Sr Jancy and Bro. Aaron conveyed their wishes to the ward members on the occasion of their feast. Fr Stany Pereira, the Parish Priest of Bela, appreciated the exemplary work of the ward members and delivered his festal message. Prizes were distributed to the winners of games and activities conducted throughout the year. Mr Rayan proposed the vote of thanks, and Ms Melissa skillfully compered the program. The children and youth of the ward entertained everyone with their dance performances. The celebration concluded with games for all, followed by tea and snacks.
