Bela Ward members celebrated the feast of their ward patron St Paul on 16th June 2024. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 AM by Rev. Fr Stany Pereira. The Ward members conducted the liturgy in a meaningful way.
The celebration took place at the residence of Mrs Irene Crasta. SCC Meeting of 7 steps method was held prior to the celebration at 2.30 pm. A few games were organised for the ward members soon after the meeting.
The formal programme began at 4.00 pm. Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest of Bela Parish, Mr Cyril Crasta, PPC Vice-President, Mrs Cicilia D'Souza, PPC Secretary, Bro. Aaron D'Souza, Regent at Bela and Sr Florine were the guests of honour. Mr Deepak D Souza, the ward Gurkar, ward representatives and all the members of the ward were present on this occasion.
The programme began with a prayer dance led by the youth of the ward. The guests of honour then inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Mr Deepak welcomed the gathering. The annual report of the ward activities was read by Mrs Vijitha Crasta. Mr Cyril in his speech spoke highly of the patron St Paul and Bro. Aaron then thanked the ward members towards the service rendered towards the parish and encouraged them to continue the good work taking inspiration from their patron St Paul. The former Gurkar Mr Roman D Souza was felicitated on this occassion for his service to the ward for the term of years. On this occasion, the 'Mann Patr' (Citation) was read by Mrs Reema. The meritorious students in Board and Higher Education exams, the newly wed couples, the new born children and the former ward secretary Ms Jenita was also honoured on this occassion. Fr Stany Pereira, the Parish Priest of Bela, appreciated the exemplary works of the ward members and delivered his message on this festal occasion. The children and the youth of the ward entertained the gathering with their dance performance. Mrs Sunitha proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Benita Crasta and Roshitha D Sa compered the programme. The celebration concluded with everyone partaking in the tea and snacks.
