Poyyekad Ward celebrates it's Patron St Peter's Feast.

Poyyekad ward members celebrated their ward patron, St. Peter the Apostle’s feast on 5th June 2022. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 AM by the Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo. The Ward members conducted the liturgy in a meaningful way.

The celebration took place at the residence of Mr. Jaya Roshan DSouza. The SCC meeting with 7 steps was held prior to the celebrations at 3.00 pm. On this occasion, Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, parish priest of Bela Parish, and Bro. Vinol Fernandes, regent and animator of Poyyekad ward, were present for the SCC meeting and celebration. On this occasion, along with ward members parish priest Rev. Fr Stany Pereira felicitated Mr. Gilbert Crasta, former Gurkar, who led the unified ward of Bela A (which recently was divided as Poyyekad Ward and Kalligadde Ward) for 14 years for his invaluable and selfless service. Mr. Gilbert reciprocated with words of gratitude for the cooperation received from the ward members during his tenure as ward gurkar. Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira addressed the gathering appreciating the ward members for coming together and he also wished well for the unity and goodness in the the ward.

The ward members entertained the gathering by conducting some games. In the end, to mark of World Environment Day, ward members together with the parish priest planted coconut sapling. The celebration in totality was indeed was made a memorable one by the leadership of gurkar, Mr Joseph DSouza, PPC representatives, Gilbert Crasta, Shanthi Crasta and ward secretary, Jansy Teena Santhies and the families of the ward.
