Nidwal (Our Lady of Perpetual Succour) Ward celebrates its Annual Feast

The members of Nidwal Ward celebrated their ward patron, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, on Sunday, 13th October 2024. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 a.m. by Rev. Fr Rocky Fernandes, with the ward members conducting the liturgy in a meaningful way.

The ward day celebration took place at the residence of Mr Pius D Souza, at 12:00 p.m. Several esteemed guests were present, including Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest of Bela Parish; Mr Cyril Crasta, PPC Vice-President; Mrs Cicilia D'Souza, PPC Secretary; Sr Christella, former animator of the ward; Bro. Aaron, Regent and current animator of the ward; Mr Stany Crasta, Parish Co-Ordinator of Commission for SCC Coordinator; Mr Raju D'Souza, the ward Gurkar; ward representatives Mrs Raina and Mr Orwin, along with other ward members.

Before the celebration began, a few exciting games were conducted for the ward members. The program officially commenced with a prayer song led by the ward members. Mr Raju D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Mr Orwin Crasta read the Annual report. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the various activities held throughout the year.

Bro. Aaron, Mrs Cicilia D'Souza, and Mr Cyril Crasta shared their festal wishes with the ward members. Sr Christella, the former animator of the ward, was honored for her dedicated service over the past years and on the occasion of celebrating her silver jubilee of her Religious Profession. She expressed her gratitude and congratulated the ward on the festive occasion.

Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, the Parish Priest, commended the Gurkar and the ward members for their dedicated service to both the ward and the parish. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs Cynthia D Souza. Mr. Stany D'Souza compered the program. The joyful event ended with a sumptuous lunch enjoyed by all.
