Monthi Fest/The Feast of Nativity of Mother Mary, celebrated at Bela

The feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary popularly known as "Monthi Fest" was celebrated in a solemn way at Our Lady of Dolours, Bela on Thursday September 8, 2022. The celebration of birth of Mother Mary began at 8:00 am at Yathri Hall with the blessing the new paddy corns and offering of flowers to the Infant Mary. Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo conducted the prayer service of blessing of the new corn. Later, the children offered flowers to the Infant Mary. Subsequently, the faithful proceeded in a procession to the church.

Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, the Parish priest presided over the solemn festal Holy Mass. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo con-celebrated the mass. Liturgy was conducted by the parish pastoral council.

Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira conveyed the greetings of Monthi Fest to all the parishioners and thanked and honoured all the parishioners who helped financially in celebrating the feast with candles as sign of gratitude. Following the Mass, the Gurkars distributed blessed new corn to the parishioners. After the Mass, sweets and sugarcane were distributed to the Children and parishioners.
