Madwa ward members celebrated their ward patron, Our Lady of Velankanni's feast on 4th September 2022. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 AM by the Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo. The Ward members conducted the liturgy in a meaningful way.
The celebration took place at the residence of Mr. Louis Crasta. The SCC meeting with 7 steps was held prior to the celebration at 12.00 pm. On this occasion, Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, parish priest of Bela Parish, and Sr. Annie OP, animator of Madwa ward, were present for the SCC meeting and celebration. Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira addressed the gathering appreciating the ward members for coming together and also wished well for the unity and goodness in the the ward, and especially volunteering to take up many leadership roles in church. Subsequently, Elders and children of the ward performed games, dance and other cultural program and entertained the gathering. It was followed by felicitating all who have taken up leadership in the form of Animator, Presidents, Secretaries and other notable leadership roles in the Deanery (Varado) and Parish, to serve selflessly as a leaders. The meritorious students from the ward were also facilitated. The ward feast day was concluded with a sumptuous lunch.
The celebration was indeed was made a memorable one by the leadership of gurkar, Mr Thomas Crasta, PPC representative, Mrs Sunitha Dsouza and the families of the ward.
