Kuntikana Ward celebrates it's Patron, Infant Mary's Feast.

Kuntikana ward members celebrated their ward patron, Infant Mary’s feast on Sunday, 25th September 2022. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 am by Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo. The Ward members conducted the liturgy in a meaningful way.


The ward day celebration took place at the residence of Mr. Sebastian Crasta at 5.30 pm. On this occasion, Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, parish priest of Bela Parish, Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo, Sr. Catherine OP, animator of Kuntikana ward, Sr. Marceline Brags SCCG, Sr. Christella SCCG, Sr. Annie OP, Sr. Tincy OP, Mr. John Crasta, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs Jyothy Dsouza, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council and Bro. Vinol, Regent were present for celebration.


It was a good opportunity for ward members to come together. Gurkar, Mr. John Dsouza, together with PPC representatives, Mr. Ravi Crasta and Ms. Seema and the families of the ward took leadership to bring the ward members together. Prior to the celebration, The SCC meeting was held at 3.00 pm. It was followed by a few attractive games were conducted for ward members. The program began with a prayer dance seeking the blessing of the Almighty God, led by the ward members. Mr. John Dsouza, Gurkar of the ward welcomed the gathering. It was followed by offering the flowers to the Infant Mary, Patron, as a sign of honour and respect. Elders and children of the ward performed dance, singing and other cultural programme and entertained the gathering. Mr. Godfrey Monteiro and Ms. Reshma Crasta compered the programme.


The top scorers from the ward were felicitated during the celebration. It was followed by honouring the elderly people and the newly married couples of the ward with mementos, as a sign of respect. Later, the families of the ward which migrated to other place were also felicitated with shawl and mementos, as sign of token of love. Subsequently, the parish priest, Rev. Fr Stany Pereira distributed prizes to the winners and also presented mementos to all gurkars and guests who were present during the celebration. Parish priest appreciated the gurkar and the ward members for the service they do for ward and parish. In the end, Sr. Christella SCCG, Sr. Tincy OP and Bro. Vinol handed over the coconut sapling to Mr. Sebastian Crasta and his family, as a sign of honour. Ms. Sujatha proposed the vote of thanks. The ward feast day concluded with a sumptuous dinner.
