Chowkar Ward celebrates it's Patron St. Mother Teresa's Feast.

Chowkar ward members celebrated their ward patron, St Mother Treasa’s feast on Sunday, 11th September 2022. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 7:30 am by Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo. The Ward members conducted the liturgy in a meaningful way.

The ward day celebration took place at the residence of Mr. Timothy DSouza at 12.00 pm. On this occasion, Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, parish priest of Bela Parish, Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo, Sr. Marceline Brags SCCG, Sr. Jyothi SCCG, animator of Chowkar ward, Sr. Annie OP, Sr. Florine OP, Mr. John Crasta, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs Jyothy Dsouza, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council and Bro. Vinol, Regent were present for celebration.

It was a good opportunity for ward members to come together. Gurkar, Ms. Irine Crasta, together with PPC representatives, Mr. Raphael DSouza and Mr. Flevy Lobo and the families of the ward took leadership to bring the ward members together. The program began with prayer song led by the children of the ward. Ms. Irine Crasta, Gurkar of the ward welcomed the gathering. It was followed by cutting of the cake, as a sign of celebration. Later, the children of the ward performed the dance. Subsequently, a few games were conducted for the participants. Ms. Saritha DSouza compered the program.

The top scorers from the ward were felicitated during the celebration. Mr. Ashik and Mr Glen were felicitated with a trophy for their achievement of travelling from Seetangoli to Trivandrum on foot. It was followed by honouring the elderly people of ward with memento, as a sign of respect. Later, Sr. Jyothi SCCG felicitated Ms. Vijaya DSouza, Former Secretary, who selflessly toiled for betterment of ward. Subsequently, parish priest Rev. Fr Stany Pereira felicitated Mr. Raju Crasta, former Gurkar, who rendered selfless service as a gurkar of Chowkar ward. Parish priest appreciated the gurkar and the ward members for the service they do for ward and parish. Mr. Edwin DSouza proposed the vote of thanks. The ward feast day concluded with a sumptuous lunch.
